Nanga is a sleeping bag manufacturer founded in 1941 by Akira Yokota, the company’s founder, in a region renowned for producing Omi raw silk futons—a town known for its down products. The company name “Nanga” is derived from “Nanga Parbat” in the Himalayas.
Nanga Parbat, at 8,126 meters above sea level, is the ninth-highest mountain in the world. It is also feared as the “Man-Eater” and is known as a mountain that is extremely difficult to climb, having claimed many lives over the years.
