■DESCRIPTION■

"Artisan's Hand-stuffed" is MINUS's first-ever leather groove release.

From the pattern to the sewing process, the construction strictly follows the style of dress gloves.

The brand's signature ladder stitch embodies the brand's very attitude.

Furthermore, as the item name suggests, to bring out the unique characteristics of the tanned leather, designer Toru Fujimoto personally imprints the outline of his hand onto each piece one by one during the washing process.

By doing this, dress gloves—which are typically flat—take on a three-dimensional shape, much like the gloves favored by motorcyclists.

It is also designed based on the concept that, with each wear, the shape will gradually change from the handprint of the artisan, Fujimoto, to that of the wearer.

You could say this design illustrates how the fashion proposed by MINUS expands as the products created in the studio take on the forms of various people.

The material used is pure, domestically produced full-tanned pig leather, a staple of our recent collections.

Although pigskin is generally perceived as an inexpensive material in Japan, in Europe it is highly regarded for its durability, flexibility, and breathability, and is widely used in a wide range of products, from luxury brand bags to small accessories.

Fujimoto says he was drawn to this bias and began developing the material.

We use exceptionally high-grade tannins—which are not typically used for pigskin in Japan—and finish the leather slowly and carefully.

Needless to say, the beauty that comes with age is undeniable.

In addition, because it has been skived by skilled artisans to make it thinner than usual, it lacks the stiffness often associated with leather and offers a comfortable, natural fit.

MINUS’s leather goods feature signature details such as the rustic edge, and the leather’s richly textured, high-contrast finish creates the brand’s decadent atmosphere.

Minimalist metal hardware that contrasts with the texture of the leather.
