Nanga is a sleeping bag manufacturer born in the town of down, originating in 1941 from the Omi cotton-filled futon production area by its predecessor, Akira Yokota. The company name "Nanga" derives from Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas.
Nanga Parbat, standing at 8,126 meters, is the world's ninth-highest peak. Also known as the "Killer Mountain," it is feared for its treacherous ascent and has claimed many lives.
