JULIUS TART OPTICAL is a new brand established by Julius Tartt's nephew, Richard Tartt, to carry on the legacy of Julius Tartt, the founder of Tartt Optical Enterprises, which was established in the early 1950s.

Richard has a track record of involvement in Tart Optical's factory and marketing, owns a large amount of documentation, and is the only person remaining to carry on Julius's legacy.

Based on the vast amount of material left by Julius, and using today's outstanding technology and proven materials, the newly created frames will have a presence like no other before.
While preserving Julius's unique worldview, JULIUS TART OPTICAL aims to revive and evolve the good old days.

JULIUS TART OPTICAL, which will be launched in 2016, retains the atmosphere of New York's good old days from the 1950s to the early 1970s, while taking inspiration from the art, culture, and evolving design of New York. The brand is planning to develop collections that faithfully reproduce authentic forms, restore numerous classic frames, and also develop collections with newly designed items.
