Our original tenugui are now complete.

The design motif is a noren curtain fluttering in the breeze at the entrance to a black, single-story house.
We’ve captured that view—which could be called the face of the shop—on a single tenugui.

The character “志” is not merely the name of the store.

It signifies goals, willpower, the objectives we envision in our hearts, and the determination to achieve them, while also expressing a heart that cherishes others—such as goodwill and compassion.

By wearing this noren, we hope to engrave the spirit of that “aspiration” in our hearts and foster positive relationships and connections with our customers and colleagues.

And within that sentiment lies the store’s “vision”—a desire to be a presence that stands by each and every customer.

Through the noren—the face of our shop—we hope that our “aspiration” and the bonds between people will continue to grow.

Each piece is carefully dyed using “Ise Katagami,” a traditional craft with a history of over 500 years, and “Chusen,” a dyeing technique that has been passed down for over 120 years.

The subtle color gradations and variations that cannot be replicated in printed fabrics, along with the beautiful, even dyeing that is consistent on both sides, are the unique charms of this traditional craftsmanship.

The artisans are carefully and meticulously finishing the patterns, one section at a time.

The fabric is 100% cotton.

The edges have a traditional raw-edge finish; the threads may fray at first, but they’ll naturally settle after a few washes.

Tenugui towels dry quickly and become softer the more you use them—that’s what makes them so special.

A tenugui is not just something you use.

Make the most of the design by letting it peek out of your pants pocket to add a touch of flair to your outfit.

Not only can you use it to wipe away sweat or dry your hands, but during the hot season, you can wear it under a cap to protect your neck from the sun, and during the cold season, it can double as a face mask to cover your neck and mouth.
